Balancing biodiversity conservation and local livelihood
ASESD has started an initiative tagged “Skill for Trees” a model that train women and young girls from forest-dependent communities in different vocational skill including knitting, weaving, beading, bee keeping and organic nursery techniques as alternative sources of livelihood to increase household income in exchange for implementing conservation activities. Furthermore, ASESD is training women in sustainable processing and use of Non-Timber Forest Products like fruits, seeds, and leaves.
